My top five essentials for traveling with baby to a warmer country.
Share
For our vacation I packed only the things we would absolutely need. As a minimalist family we wanted to pack light. That means everything had to fit into one checked bag and a diaper bag. I know crazy, am I right? By sticking to the plan this gave us enough breathing room to juggle with the two little ones and not be overwhelmed with luggage.
So.. what did we bring with us?
I made a list of the top five essential items that worked wonders for our trip. I've also linked them in case you want to check out the products for yourself.*
Remember, each baby is unique, so tailor your travel essentials to suit your child's individual needs. With the right tools and a sense of adventure, you're well on your way to unforgettable family travels!
1- Baby Wrap
I wanted a baby wrap that could easily fold inside the diaper bag, can be used for warm and colder weather, and that was stretchy to fit both my physic and my husband.

After researching we went with the ergobaby aura wrap. This wrap is breathable, stretchy, and very comfortable. We opted for this one as it offered enough wiggle room for either of us to wear. If you are in the plus size category, I'd suggest to research other options as I did not find it to be long enough.
Another option we considered but passed on was the Solly baby wrap. If I was living in a warmer climate I would 100% go for this one. I found the material to be on the lighter side, and I wanted a product I could use year round.
2- Portable Fan
A portable fan with the ability to mist. This was a must have for baby and me. While I was born in the Caribbean, I'm not a fan of the heat.

Of all the options out there we picked the Misting Stroller Fan by COMLIFE sold by Amazon. I'm not gonna lie, I had zero hopes for this device, yet it excelled my expectations! The mist option is subtle so you don't feel water splashing in your face. For some this might not be what they are looking for, but for us and the kids, it worked wonderfully. The cold air helped me and baby stay cool during walks, dinners, and at the beach. Battery life is alright, nothing out of the ordinary. Had to recharge every 2 - 4 hours of use. Three intensity levels, which to my surprise are far more powerful than anticipated. Everyone in the family used it during our trip and we still carry it around in our diaper bag.
3- Portable Bottle Sanitizer Bags
Yes, this is a thing! Dr. Browns reusable* sanitizing bags are a life saver for travels.

You can get them at Well.ca and Amazon.ca. Instead of bringing the bulky sterilizer, you can use this. Make sure that where you are going there is a microwave available to you, as well as distilled water. Otherwise I'd suggest to also opt for the sterilizing tablets. You can use a bag up to 20 times.
My only Con is that I don't believe you can recycle them.
4- Travel Packing Cubes
Everyone is talking about them, everyone and their grandmother wants them! These packing bags, cubes, whatever you want to call them, keep things separate and organized. Without them, there was probably no way we could have fit a family of four into one travel bag. They just make sense for us. We don't want to buy more suitcases, but we need to keep everyone's belongings sorted and in a controlled environment.
You can find them pretty much anywhere. I got ours at Winners for a great deal.
5- Snack or Formula Dispenser
I recently purchased this formula dispenser to make feeding my baby on the go much easier. After trying it out for a few weeks, I must say it's been a lifesaver. This compact and convenient device has simplified our travels by not only carrying the formula for baby but snacks for our toddler too.
Using the dispenser is incredibly simple. When it's feeding time, I just twist open the compartment with the right amount of formula, and it pours easily into the bottle. The dispenser's lids create a tight seal, preventing any accidental spills or messes in my bag, even when it's jostled around.

I bought this one from Amazon.ca but you can find the BEABA brand at Indigo.
